I grew up in Kenmore, Washington and graduated from Inglemoor High School. From a very early age, I knew I wanted to work in schools, serving children and helping them navigate their way through the challenges and celebrations of these developmental years.  Following my initial college experience in Bellingham, Washington at WWU I embarked on my teaching career in the Fife School District where I truly developed my love for teaching and learning.

In 1998, my husband and I moved to Lake Stevens to start our family in this wonderful and supportive community.  Just one year later I began working as a teacher at Lake Stevens Middle School where I taught math, science, literacy, health, and  student  leadership. When Cavelero Mid High opened in 2007, I was fortunate to be hired there as one of two associate principals.  Then, in 2010 I made my move back to the middle school level where I worked as the associate principal at North Lake Middle School. It was my positive experiences in our Lake Stevens School District and with the LSMS staff and students that solidified my desire to return to LSMS as the principal.

I relish in the joy my family elicits in me. We enjoy participating in local events and volunteering with the Kiwanis Club of Lake Stevens, a group I have been a member of since 2011. This work enhances the lives of our community's children and I am proud to be a part of that effort.

Pirate PRIDE is a way of life for me, rooted in the core values that guide me as a leader, teacher, and learner each day: Personal Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence. It is my privilege to serve the families of LSMS and our wonderful community and model this Pirate PRIDE.
